Workshops

Unicon is not just the World Championships of Unicycling, it is a World Convention.  For the less competitively minded, it is a chance to participate in workshops alongside other unicyclists.

Workshops are all about sharing skills and ideas, and there will be quite a few different workshops during Unicon.  Anyone can run a workshop…just think of a good theme, or something you’d like to share with other unicyclists.

Suggestions are:

-Public Workshop- teach the public how to ride

-Various freestyle tricks- mounts, idling, one-foot, gliding etc

-Informal rides: we call these workshops but it’s basically groups of riders getting together for a day trip out somewhere.   The person running the workshop organises maps and travel arrangements.  Suggestions for a MUni trip include Makara Peak mountainbike park in Karori, Belmont Regional Park, or even an overnight trip to the Malborough sounds at the top of the South Island

-Slideshows: Unitouring, MUni, Trials

-Various maintenance worshops: eg wheelbuilding, unicycle maintenance etc

-Games/activities workshops: eg Wharf jumping workshop, Unicycle hurling, Unicycle Sumo, Unicycle Jousting

We are not opening the schedule for workshops yet.  If you are participating in Unicon and would like to run a workshop, start thinking about what equipment and venues you will require.  We will open workshop submissions next year and slot you into the programme.
